Looking for a smokable hemp experience with natural THC? Explore our THCa hemp flower! Here you can find several different THCa strains that check in under the 0.3% delta-9 THC limit. That’s not to say that these hemp flowers won’t bring the effects, though. THCa is the precursor to delta-9 THC. When it’s activated by heat through smoking or vaping, it transforms into delta-9 THC. It’s virtually no different from good old fashioned cannabis. Enjoy the euphoric, relaxing, and physically soothing effects you know and love legally at The Hemptender.
What is THCa flower?
THCa flower is hemp flower intended to be smoked or vaped. They are high in THCa and contain less than 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis. That’s not to say that it won’t get you high, though. THCa is the precursor to delta-9 THC, meaning that it is inactive until its heated up through smoking or vaping. This heating process transforms the inactive THCa into active delta-9 THC. THCa can also be found in concentrates, but not edibles. Eating THCa won’t cause you to get high unless you decarboxylate it first, which will transform the THCa into delta-9 THC.
Essentially, THCa flower is no different from cannabis. It can be sold in many places as long as it contains under 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight basis. However, it is still illegal in some places, so always check the laws in your area before buying THCa flower online.
How is THCa flower different from regular hemp flower?
Virtually there is no difference between THCa flower and regular cannabis flower full of delta-9 THC. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp and cannabis are distinguished only by the delta-9 THC content. Anything under 0.3% delta-9 THC falls under the Farm Bill’s definition of “hemp” and is legal under federal law.
With that said, harvested cannabis flowers with less than 0.3% delta-9 THC are legal regardless of how much THCa is inside. Even though THCa is the precursor to delta-9 THC and will cause you to feel high, it’s not controlled under federal law.
Is THCa flower legal?
THCa flower is technically legal under the farm bill. However, it may be illegal in other states that measure total THC instead of just delta-9 THC. THCa flower is perfectly legal in North Carolina, since the state doesn’t have any total THC standards in place. On the other hand, states that have total THC standards in place may restrict THCa flower, like in Oregon, for example.
